Memory Box--3rd Draft, Semi-final model

This week, we decided to combine the two models into one. We use the bases of the rectangular display box, but we changed the sliding panel into the conceal & reveal slits from the cabinet design.

We also added a track in the middle to slide the shelve (that holds the chemical vials) in.

For the semi-final model, we decided to open a sky light on top of the box to let light in.

Some of the measurements to take into account are: 8"*4"*5" is our max. print size, we decided to scale our final design down to make room to print slide screen. 0.3mm of gap has be left between objects to be slidable. Every wall/panel was kept 3mm thick.

Results of collaboration: Tess--the idea of a memory box that is related to less physical objects, but more abstract forms; Wendy--rotate & reveal

Factors to consider when deciding the final design: mechanics of design--making sure everything fits perfectly. Possibly adding light to the interior.

Aspects of the form that are mostly effective: the concealing/revealing screen--indicates that not all memory can be achieved at once.
