Memory Box--2nd Draft, Rhino model

At week 2's desk crit, we decided to stick to the brain waves display box of consciousness and the rotatable cylindrical box. The wavelengths revolved 360 degree box is almost impossible to be 3D printed and kinetic at the same time, so it was more of an exploration of ideas. The phonograph model idea has rich potential as well, but the kinetics and the engineering involved to make the music-box-like box is really challenging the limits of Rhino. Our goal was to rotate the arm of the phonograph box, and make the wavelength move.

Hence, we sticked with and improved on the renctangular wavelength box and the rotation cabinet.

Model 1: We decided to simply the idea of suspending glass tubes filled with liquid that corresponds with the different waking states, into tubes that themselves serve as memory containers. We would make the box long and lean to contrast aginast the proportion of the tubes, and we would place 5 of them inside the middle shelf.

Model 2: We made the vertical rectangular box into a cylinder with 4 compartments. This cabinets of curiosity would contain items that you wish to remember, and the rotatable sheath would have slits that you can look through to see what's inside. You would only be able to see part of the box at once, symbolic of how only parts of memory can be achieved at a time.
